I think for the first time since I started writing reviews or really watching movies avidly, this is the first, or one of the first times I went without knowing anything about the movie. I refused to watch the trailer or have anyone tell me what the movie was about before I saw it. That way I'm hoping to have an unbiased review for one.
Let's just say....I wasn't too pleased with this movie. I'd heard very little about it, so I tried to keep an open mind, but even with that open mind I still couldn't enjoy it.
"The Other Guys" is a film, basically how the police forces may work. You've got your real cops who go out there with their shiny guns, and bad attitude, but they get the job done. Then you get all the cops who work in the building. Still cops, but they don't get much of the action. The film describes how it's not just the real cops who go out there and get the job done, but also the 'other guys' on the inside of the police force who also do the right thing and get the job done. Did that sound confusing?
It might be a little easier to understand what I just said literally at the very end, when the narrator explains. Other than that, I feel as though there was little plot and little to keep me interested. There was humour yes, but I felt as though there was a lot of dry humour that just wasn't very funny.
If you're really interested, watch it online or wait for it to come out. Don't go to the theater.
